Rising Water Levels

Citrus County reports increasing water levels in area lakes. Southwest Florida Water Management District, say water levels in the lakes around Inverness are up close to 10 inches since late February. Great news for boaters.

Clean the trays under your refrigerator and replace the baking soda inside. Rotate and flip your mattress but don’t forget the vacuum them first. Weeki Wachee Schedules Controlled Burns

The Southwest Florida Water Management District are scheduled to begin controlled burns in Weeki Wachee and Annutteliga Hammock. They will begin now and could possibly continue until th eend of April.

The population in Hernando County is up by 29% between 2000 and 2007 which makes Hernando County 12th in Florida, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Tallahassee Bound

Consumers Seek Eco-Friendly Homes

A survey of homebuyers indicates up to 73% would be willing to pay more for a home if it included enviormentally friendly features.
According to TD Canada Trust, 67% of buyers want energy conversion features so they can save money over the long-term ownership of the home, and 59% said they believed the features would improve the resale value of the property.
The average consumer said they would be willing to spend 10% more to get an enviormentally sensitive home.

More Buyers Are Shopping Online

Because over 78% of Homebuyers shop online, the newspaper research firm Borrell Associates believes print advertising will fall from $4.8 billion annually in 2007 to $3.3 billion by 2012, but online real estate advertising will increase from $2.6 billion this year to $3.5 billion five years from now.
Gross real estate advertising in all media was down 3% in 2007, but of that, Internet advertising increased by 25%.

When Your Mortgage Company Fails

The Federal Trade Commission has released a new “Facts for Consumers” publication that advises people what to do if their mortgage company or mortgage servicing company closes or files for bankruptcy.
“How to Manage Your Mortgage If Your Lender Closes or Files for Bankruptcy” has several situation-based tips for consumers related to servicing transfers, escrow accounts, and payment disputes.
